This program will serve as an introduction to the fields of Military and Veterans Law.  It will provide an overview as to why Military Justice exists and what makes it unique, the military courts system and appeals, a description of the three forms or branches of Military Service (Active, Reserve and National Guard), and the interplay of military law in the civilian community, to include such topics as family law, USERRA, and other considerations. We will discuss the background of veterans law and its evolution, the role and function of the VA, and veterans benefits—how determined, how appealed and to what Court(s).
